Bunten Road Recreational Activities Building

The Bunten Road Community Center is located in an existing park in the City of Duluth. One enters between the two wings of the building - gymnasium to one side, programmed activities to the other and a soaring wall of glass straight ahead. The center offers recreation to children, youth, adults and seniors in a spatially and fiscally economic building. At 28,900 sf, the program includes a gymnasium, offices, multi-purpose room, seniors activity room, teen room and a small police precinct. The sleek metal skin provides a counterpoint to the weighty masonry base on the wings of the building. The tough exterior with open, airy interior reflects the disciplined yet inviting nature of this multipurpose program.
